This place suits me perfectly. Good wi-fi, a helpful staff, and access to a kitchen make my stay comfortable. The staff even helped me find shopping spots on my first visit. I’m definitely coming back next year!

    heated indoor pool
    cozy lounge area
    early breakfast timing

I really enjoyed the heated indoor pool and the cozy lounge area after a long day of biking. It’s a great spot to unwind, with plenty of opportunities for relaxation. The only thing that could be better is the breakfast timing, which felt a bit early for my taste. 😊

    clean room
    comfy bed
    cozy vibe
    small space
    limited storage

The room was small but super clean and comfy. I had everything I needed, and the bed felt just right after a long day. Lighting was nice too, really gave a cozy vibe. Not much space for stuff, but for a couple of nights, it worked just fine. The shower was good—nice and hot, which I appreciated! no complaints here!

    peaceful atmosphere
    diverse encounters
    ample parking
    confusing layout

Unique location near a police training school adds an interesting vibe, with a mix of guests making for diverse encounters. The grounds present a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for evening walks, and offer ample parking space, useful for those arriving with vehicles.

The layout feels a bit convoluted, and getting from the reception to the accommodations involves navigating several corridors, which can be disorienting, especially after a long day. Rooms tend to be basic and experience issues with cold drafts seeping in through the windows, which detracts from comfort—using towels as draft blockers is an unusual workaround. While not a major drawback, the overall ambience isn’t geared towards a holiday vibe. it feels more suited for short business trips.

The public areas were beautifully decorated and very accessible, making it easy for me to navigate around. I truly enjoyed the friendly atmosphere created by the attentive staff, which added warmth to my stay.

Better signage for room locations would help seniors.

    clean room
    friendly staff
    affordable pricing
    remote location
    out of date milk
    limited dining options

I ended my day in Whitehaven and decided to stay at Summergrove Halls. The place felt more like a college or conference center rather than a hotel. I booked it expecting to be near the sea front, but it turned out to be a bit remote from town. The receptionist was friendly and helped with the check-in. My room was basic but clean and warm, resembling typical accommodations. I appreciated the fresh breakfast in the morning. I wanted to explore Whitehaven, but during a snowy evening, I had to take a taxi to the town for dinner, which cost me £10 each way. The on-site restaurant and bar were reasonably priced, but I found very basic food options available. Some of the facilities felt quite outdated. I did face a problem when I found the UHT milk for tea was out of date, making me wary about their attention to detail. I would prefer a more traditional B&B in town next time. Despite these drawbacks, I slept well and enjoyed my stay overall, a unique experience for this winter night.
